Harry Martin Riggins' Obituary
Harry Martin Riggins, of Germantown, Tennessee passed away March 18, 2026. Born October 1, 1931 in Memphis, Tennessee.
Harry attended Memphis Technical High School and graduated in 1951. He joined the Air Force during the Korean War and served for four years, after which he went to work for Memphis Light, Gas and Water, retiring in 1992 after 36 years.
Harry met his beloved wife, Elizabeth White, at Galloway United Methodist Church and the two were married for 67 years until her death in 2020. Harry was a member of Colonial Park United Methodist Church for over fifty-five years and was one of the early members of Windyke Country Club and became an avid golfer, making three holes in one. When he was of a certain age, he became a member of ‘The Over-The-Hill Group’ with other golf club buddies. Harry and Elizabeth joined the Mississippi Seniors Golf Association after his retirement and traveled to several states in the southeast playing golf with newly made friends.
In addition, they were big supporters of the University of Tennessee and traveled to countless football games over the years. He enjoyed his friends and time at Brookdale Dogwood Creek. Harry never lost his quick wit and his memory was as sharp as ever to the very end.
Harry leaves behind a son, Keith, his wife, Missy, a daughter, Laura Riggins, a son, Kirk, his wife, Chris, and their children, Jordan Riggins and Jack Riggins. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Colonial Park United Methodist Church, 5330 Park Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee 38119.
The family will receive guests beginning at 1:00 p.m. with the service to follow at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 22, 2026 at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5668 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee.
