Harry Clifford Mobley, Jr.'s Obituary
Harry Clifford Mobley Jr, age 85, of Germantown, TN Passed away Thursday, December 22, 2022 in Sarasota, Florida.
He was born on January 21, 1937 in Clarksburg, WV to the late Harry C. Sr. and Lenora Mobley.
He served his country as a Marine with active duty between 1958-1961, acting as Platoon Leader/Company XO 2nd Marine Division. He competed in Nationwide Sharp Shooter contests.
Harry received his BS at Fairmont College in Fairmont, WV. He earned his Master’s Degree in Health Care Administration from Washington University in St. Louis, MO. He worked as COO at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, OK and CEO at Methodist Hospital in Sacramento, CA. He was employed at Methodist Hospitals in Memphis as the COO/Administrator. He served as consultant for Healthcare Capital Financing.
He owned Omiya Bonsai shop in Germantown. He and his late wife Sarah owned Art Gallery East. He was President of Mobley’s Inc where he worked with Amro Music Stores selling Steinway and antique pianos.
He was affiliated with the Rotary Club in Tulsa, OK and Memphis, TN. He was on Board of Directors at Life Blood of Memphis. He participated with Boy Scouts of America.
In his later years, he participated in Senior Olympics in Swimming and won several medals. He enjoyed swimming daily at the Germantown Community Center and taking trips with his dear friend, Beverly Ingram. He enjoyed life with his daily companion, Will Mobley, a terrier mix.
In addition to his parents, Harry is preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Ellen Carr Mobley, his son Shawn Aaron Mobley and his brother, Robert Mobley and sister Erma Mobley . He is survived by his daughter Cindy Mobley Riedmiller (Mitchell Greenberg) of Florida and sister Eileen Main of Michigan. Harry had one Grandson, Andrew Riedmiller (Evan) and one Great Granddaughter, Nora Jo Riedmiller.
Harry taught his family to appreciate fine things and to enjoy the little things in life. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
A celebration of Harry’s life will be held on May 21, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Germantown, 2385 Riverdale Rd. Germantown, TN 38138. His final resting place is Memphis Memorial Park, Memphis, TN. In lieu of flowers a memorial can be made to Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Germantown or a local Humane shelter.
