Uncle Harry married my Mom's youngest sister, Ann Moore 7 decades ago when they were just teenagers. . I am very fortunate to have spent many enjoyable moments in their home growing up. We visited often and even took one very memorable vacation together to Ontario Canada for the World's Fair. Back then there were no cell phones so Dad and Uncle Harry put tennis balls and ribbons on the car antennas and we followed each other very effectively to Canada.
Aunt Marie (another Sister ) and Uncle Jim usually lived nearby and we got to see them when we visited. They loved Mike and Lisa as if they were their own. I especially loved to visit on Balmoral as Mike had a go cart. :) Lisa would later be our flower girl when Barbara and I married in 1974. Uncle Harry would always have some cool pictures, models, or Chevy hats. And how great to get GM parts from Chuck Hutton. I remember around 1981 or 82 after going to work for FedEx I helped arrange for Harry/Chuck Hutton to get a Fedex Ship computer. Our sales guy was skeptical at first but Uncle Harry had the vision and knew exactly how to grow part of the business using FedEx.
In later years I enjoyed sharing the fish fries at First Evan with Uncle Harry and his friends and family at one of "the Board tables". Aunt Ann and Uncle Harry have always been kind to me and our family. I know that Uncle Harry wanted to be the best husband, father, grandfather, and brother that he could be. Most importantly, like most of us, one day he met someone named Jesus Christ. While we will all miss him now, we have a steadfast hope for a big family reunion in the future.
RIP Uncle Harry.
