Harrison "Bud" Scott's Obituary
Harrison “Bud” Scott Jr., 78 of Atoka, passed away December 12, 2015. He was born April 21, 1937 in Ticonderoga, New York to Harrison and Elizabeth Scott. He managed several chain stores in New York, then moved to Harrisburg, PA and was a buyer for the state of PA, in charge of ammunition, helicopters, boats and milk for the orphanages. Bud was the first EMT in the state of PA and a Fire Chief in New York and in PA. He served as a Reserve Police Officer with the Atoka Police Dept. and retired at the age of 78. He met his wife, Judy at work. They lived in Harrisburg for many years before residing in Atoka, TN for the last 16 years. He was a devoted member of St. Elisabeth Episcopal Church, where he and his wife sang in the choir. Bud was preceded in death by his daughter, Bonnie Elizabeth and step son, Eric Knurr. He is survived by his loving wife, Judy Scott; sons, Robert, Thomas, David and Patrick and three step children, Dr. Alexander Knurr, Dr. Jordan Knurr, Sharon Beth Knurr. He also leaves his nine grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 10 am on Thursday, December 17 at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Poplar Avenue. The family will receive friends prior to service beginning at 9 am. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society and in lieu of food, please give to Memphis Union Mission at memphisunionmission.org.
