Harriet Coltharp's Obituary
Harriet Parker Coltharp, 80, born December 24, 1930 in Abilene, TX died January 28, 2011 in Mobile AL. Survivors include daughters, Stacey (Ray) Benya, Mary Kay Tillerson and partner Dennis Hargrove, Deborah (Brent) Mason and son, Mark (Margie) Coltharp. Grandchildren, Rodney Staton, Carley (Adam) Alvarez, Matthew Mason, Chris Hawk, Mary Mason and Emily Coltharp. Great-grandson, Tristan Stephens. Preceded in death by husband, Nesbit G. Coltharp, daughter, Laura Tillerson, grandson, Tyler Cook and sister, Tema Wright. Mrs. Coltharp had a long career with W. R. Grace in Memphis. She retired as secretary of Scenic Hills United Methodist Church and was a long time member of Schoolfield United Methodist Church both in Memphis. She was a loving caregiver who raised 3 girls by herself, plus a son and daughter brought into the family in 1975, and also cherished and nurtured everyone in her life including her daughters friends, her nephews, the spouses of her children, her co-workers and friends and especially her grandchildren. Arrangements are incomplete at this time. Memorial Park will handle the arrangements. The family requests a donation in Harriet’s name to the Alzheimer’s Foundation or a charity of your choosing.
