Harold Glen Holloway's Obituary
Harold Glen Holloway, 60, died Saturday, February 13, 2010, at St. Francis Hospital. Harold was born on December 16, 1949 in Memphis, TN. In spite of having Downs Syndrome, Harold lived a full and happy life. He worked for over 25 years at SRVS, and had numerous “girlfriends” that he met there and loved talking on the phone with the. He loved bowling every Saturday with friends and when you asked him how he did, with a smile on his face he would always answer “I got one strike and one spare”. He loved the movie “The Love Bug” and whenever he was out and saw a Volkswagon Beetle he would yell “There’s Herbie!”. He loved to watch wrestling and Jerry “The King” Lawler was his favorite. He attended Cherokee Baptist Church and loved to sing the song “Amazing Grace” (out of tune of course!). He would spend hours listening to all his records and CD’s and he loved playing games on his computer. Harold touched the lives of those around him and was a very special person. He will be loved and missed. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Ila Mae and Allen Marcus Holloway and his brother, Allen Holloway. Harold is survived by his brothers, Aubrey Holloway (Dianna) of Memphis, TN, Bobby Holloway (Pat) of Savannah, GA, Melvin Holloway of Cleveland, TX and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home Tuesday, February 16, 2010, for 5 – 7 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to Shelby Residential and Vocational Services, 3592 Knight Arnold, Memphis, TN 38118.
