H. Stacy Clayton's Obituary
H. Stacy Clayton, 72, of Collierville, TN died unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 18, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents Howard and Pauline Clayton of Fulton, MS. Stacy leaves his wife, Liz Clayton of Collierville, and one brother Don Clayton of Fulton, MS.
Stacy attended Mississippi State University where he received a degree in engineering. He specialized in manufacturing, serving in management and executive roles in Tupelo, MS, Wynne, AR and Memphis.
Stacy was an avid fan of his beloved Bulldogs and spent his Saturdays in the Fall cheering them on. He also loved golf and spent many vacations playing famous courses including the Doral in Miami, Firestone in Ohio, Old Waverly in Mississippi and beachside courses in Maui. His golf bag was always sitting by the door, ready to go.
Until his passing, he spent many hours visiting and caring for his mother-in-law, Agnes Sims of Germantown. Stacy had a gift for comforting others and a gentle way of handling the challenges of aging adults. In recent years, he served as resident support specialist for StoryPoint Collierville, easing the transition to senior living for many residents.
He treasured his dogs and spent many hours over the years playing and taking naps with Sam, Nicky, Daisy and Annie.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, June 22 in the chapel of Hope Church, 8500 Walnut Grove Rd., Cordova, TN 38018. Visitation will follow from 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his memory may be sent to Hope Church’s Women’s Ministries or Global mission program.
