Gwendolyn Sue Oxner's Obituary
Gwendolyn Sue Oxner, 85, went to be with the Lord on March 2, 2018. Known lovingly as “Mama Susie” and “SueSue” by her family, she was preceded in death by her parents, G.B. and Addie Autry, and her husband of 64 years, Charles Edwin Oxner, whom she met after her family moved from Ashland, MS, to Memphis. She was a long-time active member of Eudora Baptist Church and retired from the Publications office at Memphis State University. She will always be remembered for her generous spirit; playful personality; intense love for her family; and a passion for photos of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sue is survived by her sister, Lorraine Hodges (Warren); her two sons, Brent Oxner (Diane) of Memphis and Keith Oxner of Bedford, IN; three grandchildren: Chris Markwell (Anthony), Lauren Doll (Matt), Steven Oxner (Abbey); and four great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held on Friday, March 9, at 11:30 a.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home.
