It was always a pleasure to have known both of you through so many years. All of our family so appreciated the gift Grant gave a now 51 year old little boy as he took him on a wonderful ride over our city, for his birthday, a thrill he would always remember. Dear Mary Ruth and family – I was so sorry to read of Grant’s passing. He was such a terrific man, filled with great humor and well-versed on hosts of subjects – – especially airplanes and flying!! When I stopped hearing from him online awhile back, I figured that something was amiss. I hope his last days were peaceful and painless. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. My condolences to the family as I’ve known Grant for many years and worked with him as an instructor. Always enjoyable to fly with and he had a vast amount of knowledge that he would share with anyone who would listen. My dear friend. Finest man you will ever find he will be missed dearly. Mrs. Bales and family, I am sorry to hear about Mr. Bales’ passing. He was a very sweet man. I was so glad I was able to get the chance to meet him and take care of him. I was one of Dr. Jones nurses and I enjoyed talking to Mr. Bales. He will be greatly missed. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
