Grace R Springer's Obituary
Grace Ray Springer, 86, of Germantown, TN passed away Sunday, January 13 of natural causes. She was a member of Idlewild Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Henry N. Springer, and also Linda Hodges, a special niece. She is survived by her children and daughters-in-law, Henry Springer, Jr., and Shirley of Germantown, TN and John (Jack) Springer and Sherri of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren, Shelby Springer and Sam Springer also of Knoxville, TN; special nephew, Jack Berttula and his wife, Jean; grand nieces and nephews, Julie and Steve Berttula, Linday Bates, and Todd Hodges; great-grand nieces and nephews, Lindsay, Garrett and Allie Bates; and special friends, Emma Dean and Jim Van Frank, Billie Shelby, and Tommy and Vaughan Banks. Grace started her own business in 1969, Springers Antiques and Interiors. She enjoyed working and decorating many of the finer homes in Memphis for many years. Trips to England to purchase fine furniture became her passion and she had many memorable experiences there with her children, husband and friends. She enjoyed dancing at Chickasaw Country Club and going out to dinner with friends. She was active in the Kings Daughters Circle for many years and served on the board of the mid south chapter of the multiple sclerosis society. Visitation will begin at 12 p.m. followed by graveside services at 1 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Mid-South chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
