Grace Elizabeth “Betty” Spillman, John 14 verse 3, Jesus said, “ if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and welcome you into my presence so that you also may be where I am” .
Grace Elizabeth “Betty” Spillman, passed away on June 10, 2022 at Baptist Hospital after a lengthy battle with cancer.
She was born on August 1, 1946 and was the only child to Mary Elizabeth and Joseph Duncan Garrett in Memphis TN. She graduated from Harding Academy and received a bachelor’s degree in German from the University of Memphis.
Betty is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Dennis W. Spillman.
She worked for 34 years and retired from the Internal Revenue Service. Betty was talented and enjoyed designing Hallmark cards. She was a sweet and caring person with a beautiful singing voice. She loved being outdoors and enjoyed her pool. Betty especially loved taking care of some special fur babies named Tommy and Ms. Sissy.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, June 17 at 1:00 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 p.m. all in the Fireside Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. A reception will follow the service at the Parkside Event Center of Memorial Park Funeral Home.
