Gordon Allen Everitt's Obituary
ALLEN EVERITT was born in Memphis, TN on October 6, 1956. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Paul Everitt and Mary Ann Zinn Everitt, his oldest brother, Zinn Everitt, and his niece, Stephanie Everitt McCormick. He is survived by his son, Alexander George Everitt, whom he loved and cherished. Alex’ mother, Phyllis Kelman; his little sister, Paula Ann Everitt; older brother, Dennis Everitt, all of Memphis. He has two aunts, Emma Jean Zinn Ashmore and Sue Zinn Hudson of Heber Springs, Arkansas. He leaves three nephews and three nieces, Houston Zinn Wickham and Dennis Paul Everitt of Memphis and Trevor Wickham of Knoxville, TN, Azure Everitt and Tricia Everitt Adrian of Memphis and Dee Dee Everittt of Birmingham, AL. Allen had three great-nieces and one great-nephew, all of Memphis, Sydney and Scott McCormick, Jewel Houser and Hope Davis. He also leaves his dog, Logan, who was his buddy. Allen had many friends. Dennis Hodges of Little Rock, AR was his best friend for over 35 years. Dennis was loyal and took care of him throughout his illnesses. Kathy and Karl Kitzman of Jackson, TN and Tom Pieffer of Memphis were also long time friends. Allen was a veteran of The United States Air Force. He was a faithful Christian, a member of Hope Presbyterian Church. He was a very successful and dedicated car salesman and General Manager at Budget Car Sales, King Cotton in Brownsville and Northpoint in Millington. Allen change careers and went into Real Estate, where he worked for Prudential before opening Remax on the River on S. Main. Allen will be remembered for his huge personality, charisma and his sense of style, monogrammed shirts, tailored suits and even his jeans had to be starched. Allen loved Memphis and he loved The University of Memphis Tigers, The Grizzlies and The Redbirds. Allen will be greatly missed, but we know he is in a better place with his beloved family. We want to remember Allen as a man who loved his family and friends. We know heaven just gained more swag and Allen is probably trying to sell new wings to the angels. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until service time at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, October 29 at Memorial Park Funeral Home.
