Gloria Roebuck's Obituary
Gloria Booker Roebuck, 85 entered at peace into the heavenly Father’s arms on Wednesday, December 19. Gloria was the daughter of Dabney and Clement Booker and a life-long Memphian. She leaves behind her loving husband, Tommy, of nearly sixty-six years and her daughter Carol Roebuck and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Charles Booker, and her sisters, Elizabeth Knaggs and Katie Nell Lucas. Gloria graduated from Memphis Tech High School and retired from Memphis Light, Gas and Water. She was a devoted wife and mother and loved caring for her home. At one time she and Tommy belonged to the Memphis Area Square and Round Dance Club and loved this activity. She was also a member of the Woodlawn Eastern Star and the Spanish American War Auxiliary. Gloria loved belonging to Trinity Baptist Church in Cordova and participating in the activities when she was well. The family wishes to thank friends, relatives and Methodist Hospice for all their care during the past months and years. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until service time at 2:30 pm, Friday, December 21, 2012 at Memorial Park Funeral Home with the interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
