Gloria Mays' Obituary
Mrs. Gloria Pieraccini Mays, 92, of Memphis, passed away on July 14, 2014 peacefully at Ave Maria Home. She was born December 15, 1921, in Memphis to Mr. Umberto and Mrs. Rosina Pieraccini. She attended Sacred Heart High School and graduated 1942. She was a homemaker and enjoyed various crafts such as ceramics, painting, beading and knitting. She loved to travel with her husband and to cook for her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Captain Charles Goforth Mays of 66 years and her brother, Mr. Leo Pieraccini of Memphis. Mrs. Mays is survived by her children, Mrs. June Kardoush (Issam) of Bartlett and Mr. Rick Mays (Pat) of Arlington; her sisters, Mrs. Victoria Dichiara of Aberdeen, MS. and Ms. Yolunda Barnett of Cordova; 7 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home on July 17 at 2:30 p.m. preceded by a visitation from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Ave Maria Home for helping to extend her life with love, care and endless activities for the past 3 ½ years. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Ave Maria Home, 2805 Charles Bryan Road, Memphis, TN, 38134.
