Glenda Joyce Hill Kinney's Obituary
Glenda Joyce Kinney was born August 4, 1942 and died July 12, 2023. She was 80 years old. Glenda resided in Southaven, MS at the time of her death.
She was born in Woodland, MS. She was the fifth of eight children born to Leslie W. and Alice S. (Earp) Hill. Her family moved to Memphis and Glenda graduated from Southside High School in 1960. She soon went to work at Kellogg's where she worked for 12 years. In that time, she made lifelong friends as well as meeting her future husband, Ronald F. Kinney of Covington, TN. They married in January of 1965 and were married for 58 years. They have two children, Stacy Kinney and Tonya Sloan (David) and 1 grandson, Matthew Sloan.
Glenda was primarily a bookkeeper at subsequent jobs, the last place she was employed was Keystone Laboratories where she met and made some of her closest friends. When she retired from there, she spent her days doing her favorite things: going to lunch with her girlfriends from Keystone, reading, watching TV, listening to gospel music, getting her nails done and talking on the phone to her sisters.
Glenda's family has always been a huge part of her heart. She now joins her mother, father, 2 older sisters - Clara (her given name) or Punk to her family, Berniece, their husbands Roy and Bill, 2 other brothers-in-law Jimmy Dale and Paul as well as her younger brother W.L.
Glenda is survived by her husband, children, grandson, and her sisters Betty Jo, Billie, Sissy and Sissy's husband Dennis plus many many nieces and nephews - All of these she loved very much.
A Memorial Services for Mrs. Kinney will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at 11:00am in the Fireside Chapel at Memorial Park Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for visitation from 10:00am until the service hour.
