Gladys Johnson Streicher's Obituary
Gladys Johnson Streicher went to be with the Lord on March 12, 2013. Born in 1918, to John and Mary Korsmo Johnson of Erhart, MN, she was the youngest and last survivor of the ten siblings. She finished her formal education in Minneapolis, MN. After briefly residing in Texas, she married the love of her life and lived in Memphis for 61 years. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 60 years, Wilhelm G. Streicher, and a son, Charles W. Streicher. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Chuck Clark; grandchildren Stephanie Consolo, Allison Pitkin, Melissa Todd, Elizabeth Streicher, Amy Hanford, and Meredith Barry; great-grandchildren Mary Clark Consolo, William Consolo, Hunter Swain, Brooke Swain, Josie Todd, Kristina, Chris and Cody Hanford, Brice Johnson and Charlie Johnson, Alexandra and Isabela Barry and many beloved nieces and nephews, all of whom feel richly blessed for having had her loving presence in their lives. She was a devoted homemaker with great talents in cooking and sewing. Her warm smile, infectious laughter, cheerful disposition, love of family and sweet spirit combined to make her a gracious and genuine lady and a joy to all. There are no words to describe the bond between Gladys and her great grandson, Hunter, who has special needs. Even in her last days, he gave her the strength to smile & continue to be his very best buddy. She will be greatly missed but will be remembered always as an exemplary role model of a life well lived. The family will receive friends to celebrate her life from noon until services at 1:00 pm, Friday, March 15, 2013 at Memorial Park Funeral Home with the interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Gladys requested donations be sent to Best Buddies, 2893 S.
