Gladys Wilson Krausnick's Obituary
Gladys Wilson Krausnick, 88, a lifelong Memphian, died July 9, 2018. She attended Treadwell School from grades 1-12, and soon after began her 42-year accounting career with Sears. Her curiosity and love of learning prompted her, as an adult, to enroll at Memphis State University, where she majored in Anthropology. She had a beautiful voice and sang in numerous choirs and with the Memphis Symphony Orchestra Chorus. Gladys volunteered with the Shelby County Juvenile Court’s Auxiliary Probation Service, to provide hands on supervision and mentoring to youth on probation. She was a woman of great faith and was an active member of her church community. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward (Buddy) Krausnick. She leaves her daughter Carol Sherrill Jones, grandchildren Allyson Byrd and her husband Bubba, and Daniel Jones, 4 great grandchildren, her sister Delores Kallaher, and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, July 13 from 1pm until the time of the graveside service at 3pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave in Memphis. Memorial donations may be made to Church Health Center in Memphis.
