Geraldine G. Stewart's Obituary
Geraldine G. Stewart, 91, lifetime resident of Memphis, passed away on Friday, September 1, 2017. Mrs. Stewart was a long time member of the former Galloway United Methodist Church where she played the pipe organ for 42 years. In her later years, she was warmly welcomed into the congregation of Colonial Park United Methodist Church where she continued to be active in both Sunday School and the United Methodist Women. She was also very active in the Memphis Community Bible Study Fellowship and the Tech High School Alumnae.Mrs. Stewart, wife of the late Frank B. Stewart, is survived by her daughter, Hilda A. Boyd (Jim) of Knoxville, TN; three sons, John D. Stewart (Elizabeth-deceased) of Houston, TX, Dr. David G. Stewart (Carol) of Memphis, TN, Paul L. Stewart (Vicki) of Iuka, MS; and younger daughter, Claire E. Thompson (David) of Olive Branch, MS; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.The family would like to give a special acknowledgement and thanks to Mrs. Angela Smith, Ms. Cheryl Fields, and all the other wonderful caregivers and staff with Senior Care Management Solutions for their loving care, compassion and friendship given to our mother in the last few years of her life.The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 9, 2017 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm followed by the funeral service at 4:00 pm, both at Memorial Park Funeral Home. The burial will be immediately following in Memorial Park Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be sent to the Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) Foundation or Colonial Park United Methodist Church. “Celebrating Life…Behind the Stone Wall”
