Gerald “Jerry” Frederick Patterson, 77 of Byhalia, MS passed away Friday. February 4, 2022 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, TN.
There will be no services at this time.
Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of cremation arrangements.
Jerry was born September 26, 1944 in Memphis, TN, son to the late J.C. and Carolyn Patterson. He married Brenda (Payne) Patterson May 26, 1963. She survives. He attended Southside High School and worked in the autobody repair business for over 50 years. Jerry was a gifted auto painter and enjoyed designing and creating custom paint schemes on countless vehicles over his long career. He was an avid fan of drag racing. Over his lifetime, Jerry built, drove and sponsored many race cars in the Memphis area. At the time of his retirement in 2014, Jerry owned and operated Collierville Collision
He is also survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Shelly and Anthony Jackson of Medina, OH; one son and daughter-in-law, Kirk and Amy Patterson of Arlington, TN; five grandchildren, Kyle Jackson and his wife Courtney, Hunter Jackson, Allison Burns and her husband Brian, Kelsey Patterson and Conner Patterson; eight great-grandchildren: Ayden, Landon and Ava Burns; Owen and Audrey Robinson; Kinsey and Conner Volker and Peyton Jackson; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, James Patterson.
