When I first started at WREG-TV in 1982 as a part-time weekend Camera Operator Gerald was the Technical Director then. He welcomed me in to that small weekend group and taught me everything about working in television production. I miss his kindness and intellect.Scott Sutherland Chief Photographer/WREG-TV
Sadly, I didn’t learn of Jerry’s death until recently and was so sad to hear the news; my heart goes out to his family. Jerry was a positive icon at FedEx and like all the others who have commented, he always had a smile and kind words to say about everyone. Jerry always made you feel special… he was such a kind person who touched a lot of people through all the nice things he said and did for others. Please know our prayers are with his family — but his memory will leave a lasting smile on our hearts forever. God bless you sweet family… praying still.
I will miss Jerry very much. He was such a great neighbor and friend. He had a big heart and always a kind word & smile. Always on the go and full of life. He always had a cool car too ?? May Jerry rest in peace. My deepest sympathies to all of Jerry’s family & friends. I know your hearts are broken. I do not see anything about services. Please advise. Love, Melody Bourell
Goodbye my sweet friend. I will miss your hugs at future MAMA concerts.Laurie
Jerry showed me the ropes when I first started at FedEx. He was such a wonderful guy. I was sorry to see him retire from FedEx but knew he was bound for great things…I trust this “retirement” is no different. Sending much love and hugs to the family, and reflecting on precious moments spent with Jerry!
My heart is hurting. Even on my worst hair days, Jerry always greeted me with ‘Hi Beautiful’ He was always so sweet to me, I will miss him.
Jerry, you were such a wonderful friend and co-worker! I knew you always had my back, would talk straight to me, and go above and beyond to get the job done. I admired your total devotion to your family and your positive outlook on life. You will be sorely missed, my friend! Laurie Tucker
His family was the most important single thing in his life including Rebekah (Tommy) and Ethan Yearout, David and Donna Jones, and his sister-in-law Beverly Walker. In addition, because he was such a good friend, he had great friends at work, at U of M, and friends from first grade at Guthrie Elementary. One first grade on friend drove from Florida to visit with him last week. I will always value and appreciate his friendship.
