Gerald George Hawkins, Jr.'s Obituary
Gerald George Hawkins, Jr., 50, died on May 18, 2010 due to heart failure related to diabetes. Gerald was a motorcycle consultant and a member of Bellevue Baptist Church. According to his brother, Conrad,”He was a different spirit, and did not have much to claim in this life.I grieved daily over many poor decisions he made with the exception of two: he asked Christ into his heart at age 16 and he was baptized at Bellevue Baptist Church in February of 1993. I love you Jerry and I know someday I will be joining you too. Life is not about the contests we won or lost in life but about our decisions to give our souls to Him who created us. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Eleanor Hawkins of St. Louis and Memphis. Gerald is survived by his brother, Conrad Hawkins of San Antonio, TX; his sister, Sheryl Hawkins Roadinger of Manchester, TN; and nine nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be at the Memorial Park Rotunda, at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, May 31, 2010. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, also at the Memorial Park Rotunda. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the American Diabetes Association.
