Georgette Rosenbaum's Obituary
Georgette Rosenbaum passed away on February 22, 2015. Born in Boston, MA to French immigrant parents. She was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to so many. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Harry Rosenbaum and Grandson Robert Benn. As a young girl she endured much. She lost her father to an accident at work when she was 7 years old. She and her brother, Henri, and sister Gabrielle were taken back to France to continue their education . It was her father’s dying wish for his children to be educated in France. A few short years later, the children were called back to the states because their mother was dying. After her death, the children were separated and raised by different family members. Georgette went to work at Metropolitan Life in New York,NY. and met the love of her life, Harry Rosenbaum. They fell in love and married. He was drafted and served in World War II and she took in her father-in-law and cared for him while her husband was away at war. After the war, she had two children and spent many happy years raising her family in Levittown, NY. She and Harry retired to Deerfield Beach, FL. Georgette was caregiver to many, providing full care to her husband in his final years. She also took care of her neighbors and never said no when anyone asked her for help. Georgette Rosenbaum had a heart of gold, to know her was to be wrapped in her love. She lived every day for her family and prayed daily for their happiness and protection. She has experienced much joy and much loss in her life. She was the epitome of grace and gratitude and would always have a smile and a quick wit to cheer you up. Georgette spent most of her last 20 years in Memphis, TN with her daughter Valerie and family. Her final days were spent in Savannah, TN close to Valerie. Georgette is beloved by her family and leaves behind son George Ross and his wife Nea, daughter Valerie Jolly and husband Bob, grandchildren Jennifer Stark, Kim Ross, Andrea McKee and Heather Ross and great-grandchildren Sara, Emma, Elio, Marco and Caroline. We will see you again soon, you are free from the pains of this world, back with the love of your life Harry. Until we meet again. God our Father,Your power brings us to birth,Your providence guides our lives,and by Your command we return to dust.Lord, those who die still live in Your presence, their lives change but do not end.I pray in hope for my family,relatives and friends,and for all the dead known to You alone.In company with Christ,Who died and now lives,may they rejoice in Your kingdom,where all our tears are wiped away.Unite us together again in one family,to sing Your praise forever and ever.Amen.
