George Arnold Marlowe's Obituary
George was born September 17, 1937 in Memphis, TN.George graduated from Christian Brothers High School in 1955. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration at the University of Mississippi where he was a member of the Delta Kappa Epsilon Fraternity. He was a lifelong devoted Rebel fan. George served on Active duty in the United States Army Reserve at Fort Bragg, NC. He was a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans. He was a retired businessman in cement products who was highly regarded for treating everyone with respect and kindness at all levels in the workplace.A favorite hobby was treasure hunting with his metal detector and he was known for his extensive collection of memorabilia. An avid Civil War buff, he enjoyed collecting relics and reading up on the Civil War. He was a member of the Marshall County Genealogical Society where he served as past Vice President. He enjoyed finding and communicating with distant relatives and was known for his sense of humor and practical jokes. He loved rescuing stray animals and adopting them. He loved spending time outdoors and achieved his dream of building and retiring his family land in Early Grove, Ms. He attended Early Grove Methodist Church.He leaves his daughters, Lisa Sandefur, Christi Pugh and a son, George Marlowe, Jr. He also leaves his grandchildren who were the light of his life; Mark, Chris, Cara Sandefur, Marlowe, Preston and Grayson Pugh.
