George Hughins' Obituary
George Thomas Hughins, Sr., 93, passed away July 10, 2015. He was born July 21, 1921 in Arlington, MA. He was known by many within the soccer community as Krazy George. George served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of Parkway Baptist Church, Hernando, MS. He is survived by his son, George Thomas Hughins, Jr. (Sadako); daughters, Susan Carey (Henry) and Sherrie Gully (David); grandchildren, Lori Rodriguez, Ginny Gully, and Chris Gully (Sydney); and great-grandchild, Wesley Rodriguez. George was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Mauldin Hughins. A celebration of life and gathering will be held 3:30-5:00 p.m., Thursday, July 23 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. The burial will be private in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family requests memorial donations be sent to FedExFamilyHouse. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave. Memphis, TN 38119, “Behind the Stone Wall”.
