Gary Kevin Beck's Obituary
Gary Kevin Beck, 54, passed away and transcended from his earthly home on April 15, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer. Gary was surrounded by those he loved in his final hours in the Baptist Trinity Hospice Unit at Baptist Memorial Hospital Memphis. Gary leaves his beloved parents, Jimmy Carl Beck, Sr. and Barbara Wilson Beck, his dearly loved brother and sister in law, Jimmy Carl Beck, Jr. and Michelle Beck, and his three wonderful nephews, Ethan, Jack and Will Beck. Gary adored his many aunts, uncles, and cousins and they adored him. To know Gary was to love him and his many friends are a testament to his unique ability to connect with people. A graduate from Harding Academy and the University of Memphis with a Bachelor of Business Administration, Gary committed his life’s work to helping others through his healing touch as a Licensed Massage Therapist by opening Oak Court Massage in 2001. Gary was quick witted, funny, full of life and laughter, and had an infectious smile. He loved to cook, travel, practice hot yoga, was an avid reader and movie watcher. He was also kind and looked out for others, serving as a mentor and role model for many of his friends. Gary was a man of faith and loved God. Even while staring cancer in the face, Gary could not be broken and did not back down. He stayed true to his core beliefs and remained upbeat and positive. While cancer may have won this battle, Gary was the victor through his passion, spirit, and zeal for life that impacted all who knew and loved him.
