Colin G. Few's Obituary
Colin G. Few, 76, died Friday, August 17, in Germantown. Mr. Few was a veteran of the Marine Corps and a longtime private pilot and aviation enthusiast with over 2,500 hours logged. He moved to Memphis in 1976 with The Memphis Group. Later, he left to form his own companies, Cornerstone Air in 1983 and Tech-Services, Inc. After retirement, he continued in the aviation field with Carbon Component Tech Services in Dallas, Texas. Mr. Few was a born-again believer in Jesus. He was a member of Forest Hill Baptist Church and a former member of Germantown Baptist Church, having served as a deacon at both churches. He was a longtime church musician, singer, and instrumentalist. Mr. Few sang as a barbershopper for more 50 years and was a member of the Memphis Men of Harmony Chorus. Mr. Few is survived by wife Janice; sons Todd Few of Memphis, Scott Few of Memphis, and Shawn Few of Olive Branch, MS; daughter Robin Broyles of Knoxville, TN; stepdaughters Lisa Yelverton and Laura Glenn, both of Memphis; sister Creida Lahut of Columbus, OH; brothers Dallas Few and Darryl Few, both of Medina, OH ; and 17 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife Carol and sisters Ladine Read and Lolita Barram. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, August 19, at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5668 Poplar Ave. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, August 20, at Germantown Baptist Church, 9450 Poplar Ave. Interment will follow at Memory Hill Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Parkway. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Forest Hill Baptist Church, 3645 Forest Hill-Irene Rd., Germantown 38138.
