Col. G.C. Lewis Jr's Obituary
Colonel G.C. Lewis, Jr, Army, Retired, age 87, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2021. He was born July 28, 1934 in Memphis, Tennessee to Gillie Coupland Lewis, Sr and Chloe Farquer Lewis.
He married his best friend on August 2, 1953, Dorothy Jean Johnson Lewis who preceded him in death on June 1, 2018. Col. G.C. Lewis, Jr served our country for over 37 years in the United States Army and was a member of Highland Heights Presbyterian Church.
Other than his parents and his wife he was also preceded in death by his sisters Virginia Lewis, Jean Lewis Hunt, Dorothy Lewis Kuhl, brothers; Charles Robert Lewis, William Ellsworth Lewis and Mathew Henry Lewis.
He is survived by his son Gil C. Lewis, III (Adrianne) of Fort Smith, AR; his daughter Melissa Louise Lewis of Southaven, MS; and his son, Jeffrey Leigh Lewis (Pam) of Lakeland, TN. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren: Dillon Cooper Lewis, Mackenzie Coupland Lewis, Tyler Lewis Renfrow, Addison Paige Renfrow, Carson Ray Renfrow, Chloe Elizabeth Lewis, and Dalton Leigh Lewis.
