Freida Rone's Obituary
Freida Mae Lux Rone, 92, formerly of Memphis, passed away on October 25, 2011. It is with great sadness that the family of Freida Mae Lux Rone, known to family as Mama Rone or MoMo Rone, Freida was born on July 28, 1919, in Memphis, TN. Freida was the daughter of late Mr. John and Mrs. Carrie Lux. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Rone and her two brothers, Carlos and Henry Lux. Freida, a resident of Skipperville, AL and a native of Memphis, TN, was a retiree of Firestone Tire and Rubber. She was a loving mother, a devoted grandmother, a caring great-grandmother and an energetic great- great grandmother; but most of all a great friend. Freida loved dogs, to crochet blankets, hats and doilies for friends and family and made several donations by making hats for preemies. She was an active member of Skipperville United Methodist, where she enjoyed being involved in church activities and making her famous cheese ball for church functions. Freida was loved by all her family and friends and will have a crown of jewels waiting for her at heaven’s gate. Freida Mae Rone is survived by three sons, Jerry Davis (Gladys), Larry Davis (Charlotte) and Billy Gerald Rone (Toni) ;four granddaughters: Becky McPeake ( David ), Lisa Kness (Rocky), Stephanie Tanajewski (Corbitt) and Debbie Box (Douglas); two grandsons, Jeff Davis (Susan)and Chris Rone (Annie); 6 great grandsons, 1 great granddaughter and 1 great- great granddaughter. Her life will be celebrated 10 a.m., October 29, 2011 Memorial Park Mausoleum with a visitation one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to Skipperville United Methodist, 5189 Hwy 105, Skipperville, AL 36374 (334) 774-3293 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
