Fredericka Bickel's Obituary
Fredericka Augusta Bickel, 70, died on Monday, July 7, 2009 at her home in Bartlett, TN.Fredericka was a United States Air Force Captain and also served as a flight nurse during the Vietnam War. She worked as a nurse at the Navajo Indian Reservation Hospital in Gallup, New Mexico and retired as a psychiatric nurse from the VA Hospital in Memphis. Fredericka was actively involved in the American Indian Association of Millington, TN. She enjoyed many hobbies especially woodworking and photography.Fredericka was preceded in death by her parents; Frederick A. and Esther M. Bickel and stepmother, Rebecca Bickel.She is survived by her sister, Jamie Flowers and her husband Calvin and niece Ashley Flowers.Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. A visitation will be held Monday, July 13 from 6 to 8 p.m.Memorials may be sent to the American Indian Association, Memphis Humane Society or the donor’s choice.
