Freddie "Gene" Wilhite's Obituary
Freddie “Gene” Wilhite, 77, of Memphis, TN passed away peacefully June 25, 2010. Mr. Wilhite graduated from Whitehaven High School, he was a valued and respected general contractor in Memphis and the surrounding area for his adult life. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, JoAnne “JJ” Wilhite; two daughters, Sherrie Wilhite Nicholson and Wendy Wilhite Saylor and her husband Allen; a son, Michael Wilhite; two brothers, Joe Wilhite, M.D. of Lexington, TN and Kinsey Wilhite of Walls, MS; one sister, Mary Sue Creasey of Pekin, IL; six grandchildren, Joann Bell (David) Christopher Wilhite (Hayley), Ashley Eggers (Hamilton) Brandon Wilhite (Jessica) Jack “J.D.” Doyle Saylor II, Hannah Wilhite; six great-grandchildren, Georgia and Anna Kay Bell, Lilli and Hamilton Eggers Jr., Ava and Caroline Anne Wilhite. He is also survived by a devoted friend and caretaker Annie Hudson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Al and Annabelle Wilhite, two sisters, Barbara Wilhite and Frances Wilhite Lowjewski. The visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, June 26, at Memorial Park Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held 2:30 p.m. Sunday, June 27, also at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Church Health Center.
