Freddie McEwan's Obituary
Freddie Sandidge McEwan was born in November of 1941 and died on May 14th of 2016.She spent her life loving her Lord, family and friends. Family was extremely important to her and Freddie was especially gifted to be a strong and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was blessed with the ability to selflessly invest in the lives of others to the great benefit of her family and friends. Freddie had many friends because she was a good friend.Freddie was gifted with considerable energy which allowed her to be involved in many different volunteer efforts. Her primary love was for her Lord and His church. She considered it a joy to serve at Independent Presbyterian Church where over decades she was involved with the Women of the Church, the Adult Choir, Youth Sunday School and Choir, Sanctuary flowers, and any other area where needed or asked. She also used her gifts at the Junior League, Les Passees, Memphis and Shelby County Medical Auxiliary, the Tuesday Study Club, the Woman’s Club and the University of Mississippi – Chi Omega House Corporation.She leaves this world and her family and friends with a profound legacy. Freddie was a sinner – but a sinner saved by grace. She is survived by her husband of fifty-two years, Robert C. McEwan, MD; two sons: Robert C McEwan III and his wife Emily, Daniel H. McEwan and his wife Liz; and six grandchildren: Morgan, Molly, Hastings, Bo, Will & Luke McEwan.Proverbs 31:25-31Visitation will be held at Independent Presbyterian Church, 4738 Walnut Grove Road Rd., Memphis 38117 on May 17th at 10:30 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. with a Memorial Service to follow at noon.
