Freddie "Joe" Clark's Obituary
Freddie Joe Clark, of Collierville, Tennessee, passed away on February 18, 2026, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Joe was born on November 13, 1935, in Jonesboro, Arkansas, to the late James Clark and Imogene Powell Clark.
He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Margaret Martin Clark; his children Steve Clark (Terry) and Lisa Clark Sims (Barry); his brother-in-law David Martin; sisters‑in‑law Paulette Littlefield Clark and Karen Martin; and his longtime associate Jacqueline Thomas. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Michael Clark, Jeremiah Clark, and Annastasia Potts, along with a host of nieces and nephews.
Joe was preceded in death by two sons, Michael Joseph Clark and John Mark Clark; his brothers Jimmy Clark and Kenneth Clark; and his brother‑in‑law James Martin.
Joe retired after more than 30 years as the owner of J&K Custom Binding. His greatest joy was serving the Lord through music. He faithfully served as Music Director in numerous churches throughout the Memphis area, with First Baptist Church of Byhalia, Mississippi, being his final place of service.
Known for never meeting a stranger and for his genuine love for people, Joe also participated in the Hallelujah Choir at Germantown Baptist Church until his illness made participation difficult. A devoted sports enthusiast, Joe was an avid fan of the University of Memphis Tigers, the St. Louis Cardinals, and virtually any sport he could enjoy watching on television.
The family extends a special thanks to Melissa Wiles and the team from The Tennessee Caregivers for their compassionate care during Joe’s later years.
