Franklin Markle's Obituary
Edward Franklin Markle was born January 12, 1934 and passed away October 3, 2009 at the age of 75. The Fayette County area was his home as a young man. Soon after serving in the Army during post Korean War operations, he married Greta Williamson and started his family in Memphis. Franklin was one of eight children.Franklin leaves an amazing family legacy, having touched each of their hearts over the years. He leaves ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Franklin had a quiet way of loving his family. He retired from Gordon’s Transport but farming was his passion. A man of few words, Franklin’s actions in the way he loved his family and friends spoke volumes. His strong work ethic was a example to all of those around him.He is survived by his wife Greta Williamson, two brothers, John Ed (Willie Lou) and Charles “Buddy” Markle (Carol); four sisters, Clara Howell (John), Sarah Summers (Jimmy), Vader Oswalt (Neil and Dorothy Street (Dwight). He is also survived by five children, Lori Powers (Luther), Barry Markle, Karen Markle, Jill Bridges (Tony), and Amy Doolin (Todd).Visitation will be at Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, October 5, 2009, with the funeral service at 10 a.m., Tuesday, October 6, 2009 in the Memorial Park Riverside Chapel.
