Franklin Beach's Obituary
Franklin F. Beach, 85 passed away Tuesday, March 1st, 2011 in Nashville, TN. Mr. Beach was a graduate of Hattiesburg High School in Mississippi. He fought as an Army Sergeant in World War II and received the Purple Heart. He graduated from Texas Christian University, and Yale Divinity School, both of which he attended on the GI bill. He was an ordained minister with the United Church of Christ early in his career. He was actively involved in the Memphis theological community and was a past President of the Memphis Crosscut Club, an inter-faith group intended to counter religious prejudice. He later changed careers and became a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and was a long time member of the Memphis Estate Planning Council. His wife, Mary Clay Beach predeceased him February 4, 2011. He is survived by Sons, Jonathan Latimer Beach, Franklin Ford Beach, Jr., and Thomas Clay Beach (Roberta Ann Robertson), and grandchildren, Kathryn Elizabeth Beach, Henry Thomas Beach and Emily Clay Beach. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 6, followed by a graveside service at 2 p.m. in Memorial Park Cemetery.
