Frankie Lois Marcantel Eagen's Obituary
Frankie Lois Marcantel Eagen, wife of John B. Eagen, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2023. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, mother-in-law, and friend. She will be missed by so many but we will have our memories of her forever in our hearts.
Frankie was born to Frank and Jewel Marcantel on January 22, 1935 in Calcesius Parish, LA. Frankie married John B Eagen on February 3, 1956. They started their life adventure in Louisiana but lived in many place, including Turkey, as John continued his career as an Air Force Pilot. She loved the military and adapted well to this way of life. Frankie devoted her life to her 3 children and raising them to love the Lord. Her love and dedication to children also lead her to teach Sunday School, specifically at First Baptist Fisherville, where she was a member for more than 30 years. Frankie was also an avid tennis player for many years. After John's military retirement, John became a Fed Ex Pilot and they moved to Germantown, TN, where they resided until her death. She was strong in her faith and her love for family and friends.
Frankie is survived by her husband of 67 years, John B Eagen, of Germantown, son, Tim (Eva) Eagen, and her daughter-in-law, Lyn Eagen. She also leaves two beloved grandsons, Andrew (Taylor) and Thomas as well as 3 great grandsons, Jackson, John Sander and Hank Eagen.
Frankie was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Scott and her daughter, Melanie Eagen Burch, and also her brother, Ora Marcantel. She endured many losses in her life, but she never wavered in her faith.
A private graveside service will be held Sunday, August 27 at Memorial Park funeral home and cemetery in Memphis, TN. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Baptist Fisherville, Fisherville, TN.
