Frank S. Rast, Jr.'s Obituary
Frank S. Rast, died peacefully at his home in the Ave Maria Assisted Living Facility January 22nd. He had just celebrated his 94th birthday on January 12th. Frank was a leader in his work place, community, and church. In the 1950’s, he led in the development of the Frayser Water District and served as the Fire Chief for many years until Frayser was annexed by the city of Memphis. He then became the assistant to the director of the water department at MLGW. In his community, he became a leader in organizations such as the Civic and Lions clubs. At Schoolfield Methodist Church, he chaired the finance committee. His wife, Juanita, predeceased him in 2009. He deeply cared for his two children and their spouses, Nathan and Marcia Rast and Judy and Roy Mickelson. His 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren were a joy to him. The family will receive friends 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, January 27th at Memorial Park Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 28th also at Memorial Park Funeral Home.
