Frank Cook's Obituary
Frank Ellis Cook, age 97, resident of Germantown and husband of the late, Ruth Dollar Cook, went to be with the Lord Friday night, December 14, 2018 at his home. Frank was born October 31, 1921 in Okolona, MS, the youngest son of the late Carl T. and Nannie Cook. He was a graduate of Egypt High School, Egypt, MS. He is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Cook Johnson (son-in-law, Jerry Johnson, deceased); his special grandson, Bayne T. Williams; a loving niece, Maie Wood, of Nashville and a special sister-in-law, Elizabeth Cook (Jesse Bibb Cook, deceased), of West Point, MS. He leaves many nieces and nephews who dearly loved “Uncle Frank.” Ruth and Frank were married for 76 years, members of Central Church, Collierville, TN and known as the oldest couple at Central. Frank loved the Lord and His Word above all else. He lived by faith each day, loved his friends, and cherished his family. As he would say at the Cook reunions, “This is what it is all about.” Frank loved to fish, play pool, and spend time with friends and family. He was an active member in Lion’s Club for many years. Frank was a talented musician and normally playing some instrument, the piano, a guitar, a harmonica or a violin. Frank’s entire career centered around cotton. He retired after 31 years with Federal Compress and Warehouse Company. Then, he went to work for The Cotton Board of Memphis for 25 years and retired a second time. He love the people he worked with, and especially going to the Cotton Board office to plan conventions for the Cotton Growers and Importers around the U.S. The family wishes to express their affection and deepest appreciation to these wonderful caregivers for their constant loving care. Thank you to the Crossroads Hospice Team for their guidance and love. Visitation will be Friday, December 21 at 11:30 a.m. followed by funeral services at 12:30 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
