Francis Michael Saracena's Obituary
Francis Saracena, 92, of Germantown TN passed away on Monday, July 28, 2025. He was preceeded in death by Carol his wife of 57 years, his son Michael L. Saracena, his father Michael and his mother Mary (Renaldi), and his sister Anne Marie Plumlee.
He is survived by his daughters Traci Saracena and Susan Saracena, and extended family.
He enlisted in the Army on his 20th birthday and later was honorably discharged as an officer. He worked in management for Firestone for 18 years and later retired from Ashland/Valvoline Oil. He valued his family time with his dear wife and daughters throughout their many adventures.
He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He always watched the games with his family and especially enjoyed having a Starbucks coffee with his youngest daughter while watching the Steelers. He also loved college football, Penn State in particular.
He was dedicated to the Catholic church and truly loved teaching religious education for many years at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.
He may not have been known for his cooking skills but he loved roasting chestnuts with his eldest daughter and it became a family holiday tradition.
He dearly loved all his rescue cats, dogs and birds. They will totally miss sitting on his lap and him whistling at birds. He enjoyed gardening and was known by his family and friends for his love for caring for their cars, especially as he would say “you have to use the proper wax.”
He was loved by all those in his life. He was the best dad. We will miss his wisdom, guidance, storytelling, practical jokes and especially his laughter.
The family has entrusted his arrangements to Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5668 Poplar Avenue, Memphis Tennessee 38119.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to House of Mews or Mewtopia in honor of Francis Saracena.
