Francis "Vince" Hying's Obituary
Francis “Vince” Hying, age 86 of Germantown, TN, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2019, at Methodist LeBonheur Hospice.Vince was born on January 22, 1933 in Mitchell, SD, the son of the late Sebastian and Celestine Hying. He grew up in Muscoda, WI. He was an Air Force veteran and was retired from the Memphis Air Route Traffic Control Center after 32 years of government service. He was an avid reader of American history and enjoyed wood-working and masonry in his retirement. He loved being around family.He was preceded in death by his brother Larry Hying and two sisters, Dolores Badr and Dorothy Lomasney. Vince is survived by his dear wife of 64 years, Marie; two children, Theresa Hying of Macon, GA and Sherree (Chris) Searcy of Memphis, TN; three grandchildren, Major Ben (Anna) Elton, of Washington DC, Dr. Erin (Steven) Landers, of Alpharetta, GA, 1st. Lt., Louis Truett of El Paso, TX and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, Robert (Mary) Hying of North Haven, CT; three sisters, Virginia Mulholland of Madison, WI, Rosemary (Tony) Misslich of Sauk City, WI, Lynn (Edwin) Davis of Lodi, WI and numerous nieces and nephews.In lieu of flowers, please send donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or a charity of your choice. Service details will be posted as soon as they become available.The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, September 11th from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. at the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit, 2300 Hickory Crest Dr, Memphis, TN 38119. The burial will immediately follow, via an escorted cortege, at All Saints Cemetery, 7500 E Holmes Rd, Memphis, TN 38125.
