Frances M. Wood's Obituary
Frances M. Wood, 69, passed away Monday, April 27, 2009 at her home in Memphis, TN after a lengthy illness. She was born to Louis Spann and Mabel Spann on November 28, 1939 in Little rock Arkansas and was one of five children. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 50 years, Charles Wood; two daughters Cheryl Dunavant (Darren); and Carol Melton (Tim); four grandchildren Jennifer Simpson (Patrick); Chuck Melton; Angie Melton; Jordan Buchanan (Matt) and four great-grandchildren. She also leaves one sister Ruth Hamric; and three brothers, Lowell “Sonny” Spann (Ruth Ann); Farris Spann (Carolyn); and Jimmy Spann (Sandy) all of Little Rock, Arkansas. Family and friends will greatly miss her warm, loving heart and her witty sence of humor. The family request that memorials be made to the Wings Foundation at the West Cancer Clinic.
