Frances Witt's Obituary
Frances Louise Webb Witt of Memphis, age 92, passed away Monday, April 4, at Allen Morgan Nursing Home, after an extended illness. She was born in Laurel, Mississippi, on November 28, 1918, to John Orell Webb and Emily Webb Rothermel. She had lived in Memphis since June, 1963. Mrs. Witt was preceded in death by her mother and father, a sister, Sadie Ruth Webb Kovach, a son, David Orell Witt, a daughter, Linda Louise Witt, and a grandson, Matthew Witt. She is survived by her devoted husband of 73 years, L.V. Witt, Sr., sons Larry Witt, Jr. (and wife Beth), of Haughton, LA, and George Witt (and wife Nancy) of Tampa, FL, six grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. Grandchildren include: Daniel (wife Erin) of Tampa, FL, Larry, III (wife Gladys) of Tampa, FL, Benjamin of Memphis, John (wife Stacy)of York, NE, Catherine (husband Scott) of McKinney, TX, and Elizabeth, of Bossier City, LA. Mrs. Witt was active in Kings Daughters in her younger years. She enjoyed gardening and playing bridge. She and her husband were members of the Episcopal Church of the Holy Communion. The family will receive friends from 12 Noon at Memorial Park Funeral Home and followed by Graveside Services at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asked that remembrances be made to Memphis’s Church Health Center.
