Frances Eleanor Lancaster's Obituary
Frances Eleanor Lancaster, 91, of Salisbury died at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury on September 3, 2015. Born on August 22, 1924 in Delmar, DE she was the daughter of the late Dorsey Lee and Pluma Webster Cropper. She attended Delmar Maryland Grammar School and graduated from Delmar Maryland High School in 1941. She sang with many of the entertainment groups for the servicemen on the shore while she worked at Dupont’s until her marriage when she traveled with her husband. They both loved meeting new and interesting people the country over. She was well known in the fashion business as she worked for both Levi’s and Julius Lewis in Memphis, TN. She was a member of Allen Memorial Baptist Church in Salisbury, MD. She is survived by a special daughter-in-law, Martha Lancaster; grandson, Rick Lancaster and his wife, Linda and one granddaughter, Michelle Lancaster; two great grandsons, Zachary and Jake Lancaster of Colorado Springs, CO and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Chuck” E. Lancaster in 1955 and her son, Charles “Chuck” Lancaster III in 1995. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Vera Jane Cropper Ewell of Salisbury and Mary Anderson Kring of Deal Island and a brother, William H. Cropper of Delmar. A graveside service will be held 10:30 a.m., Monday, September 28 in Memorial Park Cemetery, Memphis, TN. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in her memory to Coastal Hospice, PO Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802. Service and obituary information will be posted as soon as it becomes available.
