Frances was my only sister and was 4 years younger than I. She was blessed with a natural talent for piano. Once she heard a song she could play it, but poor me I had to study in order to play at all. I was always working on my pieces for Mr. Cannon (teacher) and then she would come along and play them. Was always complaining to my Mom that she messed my pieces up!
From grandchild Kristina: Records-she would listen to old records, like “Rhapsody in Bluee” or “In the Mood” Cooking-she would cook food for her grandchildren and other family Destin-almost every year she would go to Destin florida on vacation. She would go to the beach and eat seafood
From grandchild Joel: -telling stories- Nana told stories about Ned, Nelly, and that pesky boy Ralph. Mangy she made up while her grandchildren listened joyfully. -games- Nana was always up for playing pool, tossing a ball around, dominoes, and even Mario Golf. –movies-Nana would watch classic movies
Playing piano- Nana played piano by ear. I remember mostly her playing “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” and “In the Mood”.
