Frances Britt's Obituary
She was preceded in death by loving husband of 48 years, David Walton Britt. She was a Member and past president of the Memphis Jaycettes. They have met monthly for lunch with an offshoot of this group, “The Do-Nothing’s” since 1964. Member of Opportunity Circle of The King’s Daughters & Sons since 1965 and did volunteer work for years at Old Home for Incurables while serving on Home Boards. Volunteered at and served as Home Board President of The King’s Daughters & Sons in Bartlett, Tennessee. Was also a past volunteer at WKNO Public TV. She served as judge for North Mississippi Theater Alliance for two years representing The DeSoto Arts Council. She was a member and officer of the Republican Women DeSoto Area. Frances was also a member of DeSoto County Republican Executive Committee. She was a member of DeSoto County Republican Municipal Executive Committee. She was a board member of DeSoto County Republican Club, also member of beloved bridge club with old friends for a very long time. Was long-time member of St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church in Southaven, Mississippi and Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Memphis, and active in various phases of the work. Survived by two sons, David Johnson Britt and wife Beth, of Issaquah, Washington, and Daniel Thomas Britt (Danny) and wife Cathy of Jonesboro, Arkansas; two sisters, Fredda J. Davison of McKinney, Texas, and Gladys J. Sauls and husband Norman, of Lumberton, Mississippi, and many beloved nieces and nephews, four very special grandchildren, Daniel Matthew (Matt) Britt and David Hunter Britt of Jonesboro, Arkansas; Samuel Harper Britt and Lauren Anne Britt of Issaquah, Washington, also a wonderful great-granddaughter, Kennedy Blair Britt. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 16 from 10:00-11:15 a.m. Graveside service will be held 11:30 a.m. All services will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5668 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee. Memorials may be sent to the Kings Daughters & Sons Home in Bartlett, Tennessee or donor’s choice
