Florence Virginia Nemetz's Obituary
Florence Nemetz, 91 of Memphis, died Saturday August 6, 2022, at Baptist Memorial Hospital East. Services will be August 20 at 10:00am at Memorial Park Funeral Home with visitation, August 19, 2022, from 5:00pm to 6:00pm with a rosary beginning at 6:00pm.
Florence Virginia Nemetz was born on December 21, 1930, in Wishek, ND. She graduated from Bismark Evangelical Hospital School of Nursing in September 1951 as a Registered Nurse. She married the love of her life Basil Bernard Nemetz on June 20, 1953.
Florence was involved in the Ladies Club at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She was the Girl Scout Cookie Chairman for the girl scout troop there for many years. She returned to work as a Registered Nurse at Baptist Memorial Hospital East in June 1979 and worked in the nursery as she loved working with the babies. When she retired from nursing, she went to work at Brookhaven Day Care Center, working with the babies there also, she retired from there in 2005. She loved gardening and had a very green thumb. After 52 years of marriage her beloved husband, Basil, preceded her in death in 2006. She is survived by her son Jeff Nemetz (wife: Jane) and her daughters Brenda Montgomery, Eileen Leonard, Denise McGavic, Teresa Nemetz, and Barbara Fox (husband: John). Her son James Nemetz preceded her in death in 2012. She is survived by 15 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.
