Flaudie Arnetta Morris' Obituary
Flaudie Arnetta (Thompson) MorrisBorn in Memphis, March 19, 1937, to Rush and Grace Thompson, Arnetta attended Peabody Elementary and Central High School in the city. She was a member of the Memphis Rainbow Girls Chapter.On April 16, 1954, Arnetta married Aubrey Morris. Aubrey joined the U.S. Air Force in 1955 to become a pilot. Lt. Colonel Morris and Mrs. Morris had three daughters. They spent 30 years traveling and living in different parts of the United States before retiring first to San Diego, and eventually moving back to Memphis in the year 2000.As a military wife, Arnetta was an active member of the Officer’s Wives Club. She participated in fund raising events for local charities and scholarships, often by contributing her artistic talents. She enjoyed oil painting, singing, acting, and sashaying the catwalk whenever she modeled. She earned recognition awards at local art shows for her oil paintings of portraits and nature. She was a loving mother and wife.Surviving are her three daughters, Diana Taylor (Bryce), Linda Collins (Bill), and Nancy Morris, and her beloved grandchildren Breana Grace, Julia Kay, David Kyle, and Jack Carson.All services will be held Saturday morning, January 26, 2019 at Memorial Park and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave. Visitation for family and friends will be from 10:00-11:00. The funeral service will begin at 11:00, followed by internment. The reception will be held indoors at the Memorial Park.In lieu of flowers, the family encourages friends and family to donate to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.All services will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave., Memphis, TN 38119 (901) 767-8930. “Celebrating Life… Behind the Stone Wall”.
