Faye B. Kersh's Obituary
FAYE BARNHILL KERSH, 95, passed peacefully from this life on April 19, 2013 after a brief illness at home in Texas. Faye was born October 1917 in Huntingdon, TN, moving to Jackson, TN as a young girl, where she grew up. She was a salutatorian graduate of Jackson High School in Jackson, TN. She retired from Fulcher Evans Food Broker as office manager after 28 years. She married Phillip D. Kersh, Jr. in 1938. They were married almost 50 years when he passed away in 1988. She is also preceded in death by her sons, Capt. Phillip D. Kersh III and David C. Kersh, 13 sisters and brothers, and several nieces. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn K. Reilly and son-in-law, Larry Livingston, both of Royse City, Texas. She is also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews and many life long friends. Faye was a resident of Memphis for over 45 years and a member of Lindenwood Christian Church, where she served as a deaconess. She moved to Texas in 2002 to live with her daughter and son-in-law, where she lived in good health bringing much enrichment to their lives for the past 10 years Faye was a wonderful mother and special aunt to her many nieces and nephews. There are many who will feel her loss as their “substitute mom”. We will greatly miss her. A celebration of her life will be held at Memorial Park on Poplar on Sunday, April 28, with graveside services at 2 p.m., with family and friends gathering prior to the service at the funeral home at 1 p.m. Please come join us for a celebration of her long and wonderful life and tribute to the very special woman she was.
