Fay A. Wilson's Obituary
Marguerite Fay Andrews Wilson passed away on July 7, 2016 in Memphis, TN. Fay was born March 3, 1928 to parents Ira Claude Andrews and Katie Mae McLeroy Andrews in Augusta, GA. After high school she attended Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville, GA. She met her future husband, Harry, in Milledgeville, where he attended Georgia Military College. They married in Memphis, TN on September 19, 1947.Fay and Harry began raising their children in Memphis, and then later moved to Johnson City, TN after Harry was transferred with his company. Fay was involved in many activities with her family and her church, and later owned her own business as an independent color and wardrobe consultant with Color 1 Associates. Fay could light up any room she entered, and always loved a good party. She enjoyed playing golf at the Johnson City Country Club, sometimes with Harry, under his tutelage. She helped Harry design and build many “spec” homes in Johnson City, a side business they undertook shortly after moving there. In retirement, Fay and Harry moved back to Georgia where they lived in a country house they built, called “Great Oak,” in Buckhead, GA. They enjoyed many good years golfing and socializing with their friends at Harbor Club in Greensboro, GA, and planting a nice size garden every year. They later “downsized” and moved into Madison, GA, where they lived the last 13 years. They moved back to Memphis in March 2016.In addition to her parents and a brother, Ira Claude Andrews, Jr. (“Andy”), she is also preceded in death by two children, David Lawrence Wilson, and Barbara Kay Wilson McNeese, and a grandson, Joseph Clint Nichols. Surviving are daughters Pamela Wilson, Memphis, Rhonda Young (Clay), Sherwood, AR, and Susan Duffell (Chad), Colbert, GA, son-in-law James Frank McNeese (Jan), Gray, TN; three granddaughters, Erin McNeese Chambers, Sara Beth Holman Raab, and Alexandra Duffell. She is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Sienna and Maddox Raab.The family will receive friends from 10 a.m., until the graveside services time at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, July 10, at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN 38119. There will be visitation with the family afterwards.
