Farris Strautman's Obituary
Frances “Farris” Richardson Strautman, formerly of Memphis, TN, born January 6, 1920, passed away December 14, 2012 at Christian City Nursing Home in Union City, GA. Farris graduated from Messick High School and was a member of Sigma Sigma sorority. She was an active member of the Cherry Meadows Garden Club. She taught girl’s Sunday school and led the Girls’ Auxiliary (GA’s) at Eudora Baptist Church in Memphis. She was also an active member at Ridgeway Baptist Church until her move to Senoia, GA, in 2005. She was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease in 2001. Farris is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Florence Richardson; her husband, Alan Milton Strautman Sr.; and her son, Alan Strautman, Jr. Farris is survived by her son and daughter and their spouses; Richard L. Strautman (Barbara) of Port Washington, NY; and daughter Barbara S. Smith (Bryan) of Senoia, GA. In addition she is survived by seven beloved grandchildren and their spouses Mark A. Strautman (Julie) of Ixonia, WI; David C. Strautman (Jennifer) of St. Paul, MN; Doug B. Strautman (Amy) of Oxford, AL; Jason Strautman of Washington, D.C.; Alan R. Blose (Jillian) of Newnan, GA; Jeffrey M. Blose of Alpharetta, GA; and Amanda R. Blose of Newnan, GA. She is also survived by 11 great grandchildren. The family will receive visitors on December 18 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Memorial Park, 5668 Poplar Ave., Memphis, TN. Funeral services will be held at Memphis Memorial Park on December 19 at 11:30 a.m. Internment will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N.
