Everett James Ford Jr's Obituary
Everett James Ford Jr., 85 of Germantown, TN. passed away, after a sudden brief illness, with
family by his side, at Methodist Hospital of Germantown, on Monday, March 25, 2024.
Preceded in death by his father, mother, and sister (Dona Graves). He was born on January 25, 1939, to Martha Floyd and Everett (Buss) Ford Sr. in Kennett, MO.
While attending high school, he met his wife of 64 years, Sherry A. (Price) Ford. The couple moved to Memphis while Mrs. Ford attended nursing school and he worked with Goodyear Retail Sales.
After nursing school and the birth of their first daughter (Paula), the couple returned to Kennett.
There they had two more children (Pamela and Scott) before returning to Memphis, where he made his lifelong home and welcomed their second son (Keath).
Mr. Ford followed his career to Memphis with W.L. Roberts, Inc., as a territory salesman and
eventually, sales manager, until his retirement.
He was a devoted member and deacon at Hickory Hills Baptist Church, until its closing. Since that time the couple have been active members of Germantown Baptist Church and Sunday School.
He was a dear friend to many. Always ready with a funny story to entertain. Never met a stranger.
He was a devoted University of Memphis fan, enjoying games and tailgating. He enjoyed many trips to the gulf coast, several including his family and grandchildren. He played an occasional game of golf, enjoyed grilling and smoking meats on his grills for gatherings.
He had a heart of gold, loved his family and friends and was able to help those in need.
Everett is survived by his wife, Sherry Ann (Price) Ford. Daughters, Paula Massey (Kevin), Pamela
Neri (Vince). Sons, Scott Ford (Dawn), Keath Ford (Teresa). Eleven grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. Niece, Melinda Spitler (Greg), Nephews, Chris Graves (Vanessa) and Jim Graves (Paula).
A visitation will be held in his honor on April 6, 2024, from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5668 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN 38119.
